Charlie Melvin
Hi, my name is Charlie, and I am a young and incredibly ambitious, cyclist from Rochedale South, Brisbane.
I have one goal and it's a big one - to compete for Australia at the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been an active kid who loves sports. During the COVID pandemic, I discovered mountain biking on the local trails at Underwood Park and Daisy Hill, and I quickly became hooked. A few months later, I participated in my first Mountain Bike Cross Country (MTB XCO) race, and I fell in love with the sport. Since then, I’ve competed increasingly, starting in Queensland and now across Australia.
This year, I've won gold, silver and bronze medals at Queensland State Championships.
For the past three years, I’ve committed myself to training and doing everything possible to reach my potential. I truly enjoy every aspect of racing and want to share my passion for the sport with others.
My brother and I run a local lawn and landscaping business in Rochedale South. I've done this to cover many of my expenses up to now. In 2025, I am also starting up my own cycling sock brand - VELEVO - the income from which I'll use to cover some more of my growing costs and which I hope to grow into a full clothing brand (and job) one day in the future.

Race Season Overview and Goals
For the 2025 season, I have big goals and aspirations. Going into my second year of U17's, I'm looking forward to continuing my progression nationally and begin to prepare myself for 2026 when I hope to have my first opportunity to compete internationally. My two goals for next year are to podium at the 2025 GWM Mountain Bike Cross Country National Championships in Mt Buller, Victoria and become the 2025 QLD Road State Champion. These goals are in my sights and I'd love to share my journey and successes with you!

Sponsorship proposal
My 2025 season is likely to cost over $20,000 and despite the best efforts of my part time work and my parents contribution, I still have a significant gap to cover but that creates for me an amazing opportunity to find and work with incredible potential sponsors like you!
I'm fortunate right now to race in the jersey of my Dad's coaching business - BNE Performance (my Dad is a former coach for Great Britain, Australia, Canada and Japan). He's been generous and offered to remove his logo from my jersey which means that I'm able to customise it to showcase your business and generous support as I cross the finish line in triumph!
Through sponsorship, I'm looking to raise $10,000 to contribute towards my 2025 season.
